We travelled by bus to a depot with many WWII tanks, amphibious troop carriers and of course an identical armoured car to that of my father's, which he led his squadron from Sicily to the Netherlands. With over 20 army vehicles we travelled through many small towns that the Royal Canadian Dragoons had

liberated. In some villages there were literally hundreds of local that cheered and waved as we passed through. The Dutch truly remember, Lest we Forget.
I was able to pose with an armoured car that my father travelled in. As I stood there I was in awe of how my father and many more very young men so bravely served. Canada and the Netherlands have a bond that joins us together, a bond that will never fade. The Dutch teach their children the history of war time so that even the very young are so appreciative.
